Lalea is a language-learning tool. It shows the lines of what you watch from your own Plex, Jellyfin or Emby server or a video file you open, translates them with AI, lets you look up and save words with the scene where you met them, and builds review from your saved words. Lalea is operated by the Subpair team (full operator details will be published before public launch) and is not affiliated with Plex, Jellyfin, Emby or OpenSubtitles.
Lalea works with the media and subtitle files on your own server and files you add. You confirm that you have the right to use them. Lalea does not provide, host, stream or share films. Lines prepared for a film (AI translations, text recognised from speech, your corrections) are kept for your account only, shown only inside the player, and never shared with other users, published or offered for download; the only file you can download is the one the dual subtitle tool builds from files you add yourself.
Don't use Lalea to copy, publish or redistribute the text of films or their translations.
Limits exist because AI translation costs money for every film. We may change free limits; Pro features you paid for stay available until the end of the paid period.
Please don't try to get around the limits with automated or mass requests, interfere with the service, or use it to translate content for redistribution. We may suspend accounts that do.
We respect the rights of authors. Right holders can report content on the copyright page; we remove what a valid notice concerns. We close the accounts of users who repeatedly use Lalea to infringe others' rights.
Translations are generated automatically and may contain mistakes. They are a learning aid, not a professional translation.
Lalea is provided as is. We do our best to keep it working, but we can't promise it will always be available or work with every server, device or file. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months.
You can stop using Lalea at any time and delete your data on the Account page. See the privacy policy for what we keep.
